A man with a bionic leg stair climbs Willis Tower.
31-year-old, Zac Vawter serves as a major source of inspiration for all of us. The Seattle resident lost his leg several years ago following a motorcycle accident.
About a year ago, he began working with the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, serving as a human experiment. Vawter began testing a unique prosthetic, dubbed as a bionic leg, which is neural-controlled, prompted by his own thoughts.
He recently went public with the bionic leg, climbing 103 floors of Willis Tower in 53 minutes and 9 seconds, by way of stairs.
He notes "I hope that we push the boundaries of what the research and the leg is capable of."
Earlier this year, an amputee named Kyle Maynard successfully climbed Mt Kilimanjaro in a record setting 10 days. He was born without arms or legs, but that didn't stop Maynard from extensively training during the months leading up the climb.
To add to his impressive list of achievements, he is also trained in mixed martial arts and made his first amateur fighting debut in 2009.
